ONE MORE STEP TOWARDS SUCCESS! The minimum number of signatures needed to qualify this petition was 175. We submitted 240 signatures, all from confirmed registered voters within District 1.
This number is significant as it is over 50% of the voters who voted in the District 1 City Council election in November 2020. Of the 240 signatures, 229 were deemed sufficient and 11 were deemed insufficient. The Registrar of Voters does not present the reasons why so we can only assume technicalities (signature outside the box, missing part of an address, etc).
The City Council will now be presented with the findings at their July 18th meeting and asked to order the recall election.
